A Peek Into My Christmas List

‎‌‎I was not financially compensated for this post. Although I was given some of these products free of charge to test and review, all opinions are my own and as honest and true as a glass of sweet southern iced tea.

It’s gift giving season and if you’re feeling stressed out with all the choices I have a few ideas based on my holiday gift giving.

Experiences
We are very big on giving experiences in addition to toys. We’ve had many a toy that were BEGGED for be forgotten a few days after Christmas and it is so annoying! When you gift experiences you enjoy it in the moment and make memories. It’s a huge win in my book!
This year the kids are getting a membership to The Museum Of Discovery. We’re pairing it with something super fun from their Discover Store so they’re getting a learning toy and an experience that will last all year! They have so many membership options for every stage of life, you are sure to find one to fit your needs.
Do you have a museum local to you? This is a wonderful gift idea for all ages! There is so much to do and with a membership pass you can go as often as you want!

Give the gift of theatre! This was actually an early birthday present for my December baby but would work wonderfully for Christmas as well. We took Robert to see Paw Patrol Live a few weeks back as a surprise and he was thrilled! It was such a fun show and the memories we made there will be treasured long after the toy he picked out is tossed aside.

There are so many options for giving the gift of doing! These are just a couple that we are gifting this year. In the past we’ve done movie tickets, trampoline park passes, favorite food gift cards, pottery painting, really the list goes on and on! Please add your suggestions in the comments!

Toys
Obviously the kids are getting some toys! As much as I love experience gifts I also love seeing their eyes light up when they receive a toy they really wanted.

Toddler Toys
Robert was given the Think and Learn Rocktopus a few months back to test out and that toy is still a favorite. It is one of those great learning toys that teaches your kids without them realizing it. It’s a mom’s dream! I’ve said this before but it’s one of the rare “noisy” toys that I don’t mind. It plays so many different instrument sounds, none of them the least bit annoying. This would make an excellent gift for the toddler in your life! If they aren’t quite old enough for the math part of it they will love the music, and then grow into the learning aspect!

Along with the copious amounts of Paw Patrol toys Robert has requested he is also getting things that can grow with him and grow his brain!
Magnatiles are something he can enjoy now and still play with as he grows up. Toddler legos are also on the list since big sister is so into legos. And if big sis can play with him, even better!

Girl Gifts
My daughter is 8. She’s not technically a tween yet, thank the Lord, but she is getting a little more difficult to shop for. No more barbies in our house, and it is sad. This year the absolute number one gift On her list is a MorfBoard. If you haven’t seen this thing it looks pretty sweet. It’s a scooter that changes into a skateboard. Then you can buy add on accessories to change it into a balance board or a bounce board. I’m selfishly getting her the balance extension because I used to have an indo board and was OBSESSED with it! She’ll love it, but also mommy will too! The best part of this type of gift is that it encourages being active! Total Mom win!

Even though she’s on that weird cusp between baby girl and growing up way too fast, she still loves all things cute and fuzzy! So when Pomsies wanted to send her a couple to test out I was thrilled! These cute creatures sing and react to your touch, they have two modes of play for even more fun. They’re the Hatchimals of this holiday season, except at a much better price! I can’t wait for her to see these!

Also on Tenley’s wish list were clothes. When I asked her what kind of clothes she just said PJs. Well I know kid, but what kind of clothes? She said “I don’t want any clothes I just want tons of PJs.” Y’all. That is my daughter. All the way. I cracked up. So she’s getting what she asked for. 5 or so pairs of cozy PJs.

LEGO sets have been Tenley’s obsession for a few years now. This year she’s getting one of the BIG Girlfriend sets. The kind that will take all afternoon to build! She will LOVE it, and I love that it is building her brain and problem solving skills while she is having fun!

Gifts for him
What to get for the husband who has everything? I have no idea. Help me?
I’ve gotten my husband many things over the years I thought he’d love. I use his shiatsu chair massager more than he does. I did buy him a pocket knife he carries with him every day, but besides that there’s only one gift that he didn’t even know to ask for that he has used every day. Wireless headphones for the TV. These have been his best gift ever and I recommend them to everyone! Now he can stay up late and watch tv and actually hear it! It’s a Christmas miracle!! This year I think I’m going to get him a super old bottle of Crown Royal that he’s been eyeing. Unless someone out there has a better idea for me!

Brothers/sisters/inlaws/best friends
Museum of Discovery has a membership just for their Science After Dark nights, which are designed just for adults. This is such a fun night out for any of the adults in your life! There are very few people who wouldn’t love the gift of a years worth of fun!

I hope this peek into my Christmas lists helps you finish up your holiday shopping!
